Small Footprint, Big Data: Rapsodo Range Comes to Strawberry Hill Golf Club

September 04, 2026

Driving range technology has a reputation problem: the assumption that "smart" practice requires acres of turf, a dozen bays, and a launch monitor at every station. Rapsodo Range's newest installation puts that assumption to rest.

We're excited to share that Rapsodo Range has been installed at Strawberry Hill Golf Club's brand new driving range facility in the UK β€” and it's one of the most compact deployments to date.

Inside the Installation

Strawberry Hill's new facility isn't a sprawling practice ground. It's a purpose-built, space-efficient setup that includes:

  • 🎯 A brand new 4-bay driving range
  • πŸ“ An ultra-short range format at just 12 yards
  • 🫲 1 left-handed bay, ensuring lefty golfers get the same quality practice experience as everyone else

At just 12 yards, this is about as tight a footprint as a driving range gets β€” the kind of format that's becoming increasingly common as urban and suburban clubs look to add practice facilities without the real estate a traditional range demands.

Why This Installation Matters

The headline here isn't just that Rapsodo Range showed up at a new venue β€” it's what the installation proves about the technology itself. Ball tracking and swing analytics have historically been associated with long, open ranges where a launch monitor has plenty of room to capture full-flight data. Strawberry Hill's ultra-short format flips that expectation.

By adapting to a 12-yard bay, Rapsodo Range shows that accurate ball tracking doesn't require a full-length range to deliver meaningful insight. Golfers hitting into a net from 12 yards still get the same data-driven feedback β€” launch conditions, ball flight metrics, shot dispersion β€” that they'd expect from a full 250-yard range.

That adaptability matters for two groups:

  1. Golf facilities working with limited space β€” urban clubs, compact driving ranges, or venues retrofitting existing footprints β€” now have a credible path to offering data-driven practice without needing to expand their land.
  2. Golfers themselves, who get consistent, reliable insight into their swing regardless of where they're practicing.

A Practice Experience That Travels

One of the most compelling parts of this rollout is the video reply feature built into Rapsodo Range. Every swing can be paired with recorded video, letting golfers connect what they see on screen β€” swing mechanics, contact point, follow-through β€” with the ball flight data underneath it. In a compact bay format like Strawberry Hill's, this pairing of video and data becomes even more valuable: with less physical space to visually gauge a shot's flight, the combination of instant video reply and precise ball tracking gives golfers the fuller picture they'd otherwise get from watching a ball soar down a wide-open range.

This is really the throughline of the Strawberry Hill installation: whether a facility has a full-length range or a tight urban footprint, golfers shouldn't have to sacrifice insight. The format shrinks; the feedback loop doesn't.

Looking Ahead

Strawberry Hill Golf Club's new facility is still gearing up for its official opening, and we're looking forward to seeing golfers get their first swings in on the new bays. It's a strong example of how modern driving range technology can flex to fit a facility's constraints rather than the other way around.
